The Bergenfield High School Honors Wind Ensemble was founded in 2002 and had its first performance in Quebec, Canada in February of 2003 during a music department trip. Since that time, the BHSHWE has performed at Lincoln Center, Prudential Hall at NJPAC, Carnegie Hall, and been named a four-time NJ State Honor Band. The ensemble has participated in numerous composition consortia for new music and commissioned renowned composer Joseph Turrin to compose “Circle Dance” in 2017.
On March 19, the BHSHWE will return to Carnegie Hall for their second feature performance. Between their afternoon sound check and evening performance, I would like to bring them to a NYC restaurant for a pre-concert dinner. Considering the BHSHWE's legacy and the impact it has had on its alumni members for over 20 years, I am calling on our alumni to help by contributing to the cost of the dinner. Many alumni have gone on to very successful careers, and this would be an opportunity to show our current members how important the BHSHWE experience was in their lives. Thank you in advance for your support.
